Rustic, Outdoor Wedding In The Pines | Kaitlyn and Michael On Super 8 | June Lake, CA
Kaitlyn and Michael have a love of the outdoors, so getting married in June Lake, California, was a no brainer. Given that they are country music fans, and Michael went to college in Texas, their Western themed dress-code was a huge hit. Cowboy hats, cowboy boots, bolo ties, and Kaitlyn's lace dress, all came together perfectly under the backdrop of granite mountains and towering pine trees. The Double Eagle resort had a beautiful pond for their ceremony, but the two decided for private vows at nearby Silver Lake. Honestly, it might have been one of the most amazing places I've ever filmed vows or portraits. The late summer/early fall weather gave us clouds for perfect lighting, and even a bit of rain for dramatic effect. Kaitlyn and Michael were totally on board and gave myself and their photographer plenty to work with. It was so hard to leave, but we had to make it back in time for cocktail hour! Guests gathered outdoors under the trees for drinks before heading to the resort's patio for their reception. Their grand entrance led right into their first dance, and from there, it was a boot-stomping good time. A hilarious toast from Michael's best man complimented the heart-felt toasts from friends and family. Line dancing followed and the guests had an amazing night under the stars. Thank you so much Kaitlyn and Michael for trusting me with your wedding and such amazing shots for me to work with!
